The thrill of boating to remote islands in another country, visiting foreign marinas, mooring at a sheltered cove for a fun day is what gets every boaters excited to go boating beyond Singapore with SGBoating
About 130 nautical miles NNE of Singapore lies Tioman Island, an alluring holiday paradise in the South China Sea. Acclaimed as one of the best island getaways in the world, Tioman is by far the most popular boating destination for any boaters here in Singapore due to its easy reach, marina berthing and replenishment facilities.

The warm waters and good visibility make Tioman a paradise for divers and snorkelers. Discover astounding sights such as colourful Gorgonian sea fans, Staghorn corals, nudibranchs and beautifully sculptured sea sponges. Snorkellers can delight in swimming alongside Napoleon Wrasse, Golden Striped Trevally, Bumphead Parrotfish and shoals of Fusiliers.

This island is an idyllic spot for leisurely days under the sun. Swim in its emerald waters, enjoy a stroll by the beach or be lulled to sleep by the sound of the waves. There are several villages scattered around the coastline, the larger ones being Salang, Tekek, Genting, Paya and Juara.

Each village offers a different and unique atmosphere. Tioman's verdant greenery is home to a splendid variety of plants and small animals, including butterflies, monitor lizards, deer and monkeys. Its flora and fauna have been featured in National Geographic's documentaries.

Best Time To Visit
Between March and October is the best time to visit the island with your own boat or you joined in on SGBoating boating rendezvous which is held annually during the June school holiday for our boating customers. Take note that most resorts are closed during the North-east Monsoon, which blows from November to February and make the journey for boaters uncomfortable and not recommended.

The boat journey takes between 5 to 7 hours to reach Singapore. The regular immigration in Singapore is a must before leaving the country and the journey brings boaters to the east shores of Singapore and southern Johore before entering the Lima Island group, and heading north up towards Tioman.

In SGBoating convoy, we provide support boats/staffs and the convoy in safety means boaters can enjoy the journey knowing boat side assistance is available throughout the entire journey. A stop at Pulau Tinggi for lunch and refuelling for smaller boats are the usual itinerary before continuing the last passage to Tioman, arriving during mid-afternoon to the island on a easy 22-25 knot cruise.

From budget rooms and 5-star hotel, there are selections of accommodations for anyone but nothing is better than sleeping onboard your very own yacht during the trip.
