TIOMAN is the biggest and most impressive island at the east coast. There is a brisk jungle covers a ridge on the west section of the island, which ends at the idyllic location of a beautiful palm fringed beach. Tioman offers a wide range of activities for boaters: snorkeling in crystal clear water, discover the beautiful underwater world when you go diving, or just laze on the beach while you work on that tan. Also, there is a jungle on the island that is just begging to be explored. The dense forest is a habitat for many kinds of flora and fauna.

Tioman was discovered as a holiday destination quite some time ago. It was the setting for the supposedly mythical magical island of Bali Hai from the 1958 Hollywood movie 'South Pacific'. In the 70s the Time magazine selected Tioman as one of the world's most beautiful islands. Tioman is still rated as one of the world's most beautiful islands. It presents itself as a paradise island in the tropics. But sometimes you have to search for this paradise off the beaten track.
When the stress of life's hectic pace gets to you, rejuvenate your mind and body at Tioman Island. Immerse yourself in the quiet and tranquil setting. Relax to the cool, refreshing breeze and soothing waves. Bask in the tropical sun or walk along the shores during sunset to experience the beauty of the island. Popular beaches are found around the villages of Tekek, Genting, Salang, Air Batang and Juara.

For golf-lovers, tee off at the 18-hole international-standard golf course set amidst lush tropical greenery. Enjoy the picturesque sight of rustic villages scattered around the island, where the people are charming, friendly and gracious.

Tioman Island is accessible by boat from Singapore, a journey which takes about 4-5 hours. Accommodation comes in the form of delightful wooden air-conditioned chalets on the beach or in luxurious hotel rooms such a Berjaya Tioman.

Whichever is the choice, comfort and hospitality is assured. For boaters, the newly completed marina at Tekek Village offers peaceful overnight berthing alongside complete with shorepower, water and refueling.

TIOMAN ON YOUR OWN  BOAT

Tioman is easily accessible by boat and SGBoating have been putting together some of the greatest trips to the island regularly. With proper planning, logistic support such as refueling and immigration all factor-in, the 4 -5-hours trip to Tioman can be a very enjoyable getaway as the journey are both exciting and rewarding.

For boaters, there's no need to bunk at the local resorts if your boat is equip with onboard amenities such as shower, airconditioning and toilet facilities. The marina at Tekek can accomodate up to 30 boats at any given time with shore power supplies and water.

Berthing rates are cheap compare to Singapore and like other marinas in this region but it's always wise to call ahead to ensure you have a berth waiting for you as local fishing boats and tour operators tend to take-up these berthing when they are vacant.
